As a conservative opinion writer, I can’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction witnessing the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) being exposed on Twitter as “government-funded media.” Following in the footsteps of National Public Radio (NPR), CBC now faces the consequences of its deep ties to the Canadian government.
The CBC’s 2021-2022 annual report unveiled that almost $1.4 billion (70% of its funding) came from the Canadian government. This revelation affirms our long-held suspicions about the left-leaning bias in CBC’s reporting.
The trending hashtag #GoodbyeCBC and the avalanche of memes targeting CBC’s claims of “impartiality and independence” are evidence that conservatives are not alone in demanding transparency and accountability from media outlets.
As a conservative, I believe this exposure is a step in the right direction. It’s crucial for us to continue unearthing the truth about biased, government-funded media organizations. By doing so, we can dismantle the liberal narrative and foster a more balanced media environment for all.
