As a conservative opinion writer, I find it necessary to address the recent display of liberal hypocrisy involving Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View.”
When Goldberg retold a joke made by former Vice President Mike Pence, her reaction was far from lighthearted.
Pence joked about Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s two-month “maternity leave” during an airline crisis, leading to “everyone else [getting] postpartum depression.”
The audience found it amusing, but Goldberg scolded them, asserting the joke wasn’t funny when conservatives like Tucker Carlson and Lauren Boebert told it.
This occurred at the annual Gridiron Club Dinner in Washington, attended by politicians and journalists. Pence is speculated to be considering a presidential run and is asked to testify against former President Donald Trump.
Trump has filed a motion in federal court to prevent Pence from testifying before a grand jury, citing privileged information. Pence also resists the subpoena, invoking his role as president of the Senate.
