For passionate Republican voters, it’s no secret that the left has been playing dirty politics for years. Now, with news that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is facing an ethics complaint for using official resources for political purposes, it’s clear that the Democrats’ desperation to hold onto power knows no bounds.
According to the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), Schiff violated congressional rules by featuring a clip of himself presenting his case for then-President Donald Trump’s second impeachment on the floor of the Senate in a campaign video for his bid for retiring Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat.
FACT is right to hold Schiff accountable, as the ethics rules prohibit members from using any official resource for campaign or political purposes.
Schiff, who thought leading the charge on impeaching Donald Trump would be his golden ticket to the Senate, is now learning that he can’t abuse his position for personal gain without facing the consequences. Schiff’s behavior is unacceptable and shows just how far the left is willing to go to maintain power and control.
This is not the first time Schiff has been accused of unethical behavior. Former CIA director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has accused Schiff of leaking classified information throughout the Trump administration. Pompeo has noted that Schiff played a crucial role in the Trump-Russia investigation, which was plagued with leaks to the media for years.
It’s clear that Schiff has a history of abusing his position for political gain. Fortunately, newly-elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) made good on his promise to remove Schiff from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence once Republicans took control of the chamber. McCarthy knows that Schiff’s unethical behavior has no place in Congress.
Schiff’s behavior is a disgrace to the American people and undermines our democracy. The left has been trying to take down Trump and his supporters since day one, but now they’re going after anyone who stands in their way. Republicans must stand strong and fight back against the left’s dirty tactics.
The left is willing to do whatever it takes to win, even if it means breaking the law and violating ethical standards. Republicans must not let this behavior go unchecked. We need to hold Schiff and the rest of the left accountable for their actions and protect our democracy from their corrupt and unethical behavior.
