The recent revelation of California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters’ campaign finance practices raises several concerns. As a conservative opinion writer, I must express my disappointment in our political system that allows such unethical practices to continue.
Republican Texas Rep. Pat Fallon’s Family Integrity to Reform Elections Act is a much-needed response to this growing issue.
By prohibiting campaign funds from going to a candidate’s immediate family and holding candidates directly responsible for knowingly violating the provision, we can take a step toward restoring the integrity of our elections.
It’s disheartening to see politicians like Waters, Ilhan Omar, and James Clyburn misuse campaign funds to enrich their families.
We, as conservatives, must continue to fight for transparency and accountability in our political system.
