In a stunning display of misplaced priorities, Georgia Democrats have been caught red-handed, favoring illegal immigrants over the struggling Black children in their own communities. State Rep. Mesha Mainor, a Democrat herself, is not afraid to call out her own party for this glaring hypocrisy.
During a recent interview on the popular morning show “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Mainor unleashed her frustration, shedding light on the dire situation faced by underprivileged residents while Georgia Democrats lend a helping hand to migrant families.
“I was speaking to someone who works with migrants the other day,” Rep. Mainor revealed. “And when I mentioned the struggles of my constituents, she had to take a step back and admit that the aid they were receiving was only for migrants. It’s disheartening to witness so many services being directed towards migrants while children in Atlanta are forced to sell water on the streets just to support their families.”
The staggering reality faced by these children cannot be ignored. Without basic necessities like electricity, they are unable to complete their homework, perpetuating a cycle of academic underachievement and poverty. Rep. Mainor makes it clear that this issue extends beyond mere economic struggles and highlights the urgent need for attention and action.
In a powerful video shared on Twitter, Rep. Mainor accuses her colleagues of attempting to remove her from office due to her unwavering support for school choice. She questions the sincerity of slogans like “Black Lives Matter” when black children living in poverty are continuously neglected. While millions of dollars are allocated to immigrant services, the plight of black communities is met with silence and indifference.
It is high time for Democrats to reassess their priorities and acknowledge the importance of school choice in improving the lives of black children. Rep. Mainor emphasizes that supporting school choice not only benefits black students but also provides opportunities for disabled children.
“We must prioritize the needs of black people,” Rep. Mainor insists. “Instead, it seems like we are placing them at the bottom of the totem pole while prioritizing other minority groups. It’s time to level the playing field and ensure that black communities receive the attention and support they deserve.”
Furthermore, the expansion of charter schools can significantly contribute to closing the achievement gap. These schools have emerged as a beacon of hope, catering to minority students and empowering them with quality education. It is unfortunate that teachers unions often oppose charter schools, denying students the chance to thrive in an environment tailored to their needs.
Rep. Mainor passionately defends the right of parents to choose the best education for their children. She expresses her disappointment at the dismissive attitude of her party towards the parents in her district who have opted for charter schools and school choice options.
The time for action is now. Let us unite to demand better for black children and push back against the Democrats who prioritize illegal immigrants over their own constituents. It is time to put an end to this glaring hypocrisy and ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to a quality education that can change their lives for the better.
