Hunter Biden’s involvement in the political world has once again come under scrutiny, this time in relation to his work as a consultant for Democratic Senator Chris Coons during his successful Senate campaign in 2010.
According to a report from Politico, Hunter leveraged his extensive network of business associates to aid Coons’ fundraising efforts during the campaign.
Emails retrieved from Hunter’s laptop show that he and Eric Schwerin, the president of Rosemont Seneca Partners (an investment fund Hunter was involved with), maintained frequent contact with Coons and his campaign finance director Tracey Buckman.
The emails also reveal that Coons met with Hunter and Schwerin in June 2010, shortly before Hunter began hosting fundraising events for the future senator. During a conversation with Buckman, Hunter even mentioned that he could reach out to his network in Chicago to solicit donations for Coons’ campaign.
It’s not clear whether Coons met with Hunter and Schwerin together or separately, but what is clear is that Hunter played a crucial role in aiding Coons’ fundraising efforts. This is just the latest example of the Biden family’s long history of profiting off their political connections.
It’s time for the American people to demand transparency from the Biden family and a full investigation into their business dealings. The Bidens cannot be allowed to continue using their political power for personal gain.
