In a recent interview with Evan Smith of the Atlantic, Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to alleviate concerns about President Joe Biden’s age. She praised Biden as a “fantastic leader” and mentioned that he’s younger than her.
However, social media users were quick to criticize her argument. The age difference between Pelosi (82) and Biden (80) is minimal, and it does not address the primary concern of Biden’s critics: his perceived cognitive decline.
Social media users pointed out that Pelosi’s own signs of aging undermine her comparison to Biden. One user stated, “Someone needs to tell @SpeakerPelosi that this is NOT the winning point she thinks it is.
She also seems somewhat impaired in looks, voice & mannerisms.” Another user added, “Watch this without sound and tell me she doesn’t look absolutely Insane.”
Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), a former White House physician, has been vocal about his concerns regarding Biden’s cognitive abilities since before he took office.
Jackson recently appeared on Fox News to discuss Biden’s cancerous lesion removal and suggested that Biden himself should be removed from office.
While Biden’s doctor declared him “healthy, vigorous,” and “fit” to perform his duties as president, questions surrounding his cognitive abilities continue to be a point of contention.
Pelosi’s defense of Biden’s age has only added fuel to the ongoing debate.
