Ohio Representative Jim Jordan is investigating allegations of false statements made by Dr. Anthony Fauci during a congressional hearing.
Fauci denied funding for gain-of-function research, but Jordan claims that evidence suggests otherwise. Jordan cited a code in Congress, 18 U.S. Code 1001, which outlines the consequences of lying to Congress.
He indicated that a referral could be made to the Biden Justice Department, but expressed doubt that they would pursue the case. Fauci dismissed the allegations as “craziness” and expressed frustration with the attacks on him and his family.
