Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come under scrutiny from the House Office of Congressional Ethics for allegedly accepting gifts during her attendance at the 2021 Met Gala.
The report found that Ocasio-Cortez may have violated House rules, standards of conduct and federal law by accepting “impermissible gifts associated with her attendance at the Met Gala in 2021”.
The Office of Congressional Ethics has recommended further review by the House Committee on Ethics.
The report states that Ocasio-Cortez received goods and services associated with her attendance at the Met Gala, which she did not pay for. Ocasio-Cortez’s counsel claims that this matter is not a violation of House rules, but the report recommends further review.
